Hi, I have a Tacoma (2014 LTD with double cab & long bed), there is a gap between the rear window & the truck bed cap, anyone know an elegant way to seal it ?
I need to seal it from the top to keep the rear view clear from rain, snow, etc but has to be a good looking solution please & thanks.

I've been driving trucks with caps for 40 years. Never had a problem with that. That is why they have mirrors on the sides. About once a year I loosen the clamps and slide the cap back about 6" to clean the glass on the back window of the truck and front of the cap. Some newer caps will allow the front window on the cap to easily come out making it a lot easier to clean. The one on my F150 does that.

Also had trucks with caps since 1999 and never had an issue with rain, snow and/or ice affecting visibility in that area. The heat from the truck melts any snow/ice that does manage to get back there (which isn't a lot).

I've never seen a truck with a cap with that top space/gap sealed.

The rear cap/door window is the problem as it's non heated space. That has to be brushed/scraped clean for proper visibility.

I've always had either a sliding or removable cap window to allow for occasional washing of the rear truck window.

There are inflatable boots to seal between the cab and cap but some people report that they rub the paint off. I have not had a problem with rain, snow or ice in that area having caps for 25 years.

I've never had a problem with snow or ice building up in that area. But there are other reasons to seal the gap. Unfortunately there's probably not an elegant way to seal it. Any sort of boot is bound to causing scratching. I've tried inflatable boots and weather stripping. They work but aren't perfect.

On a previous truck I had a canopy with a factory boot instead of a front window. It made a very nice pass-thru between the sliding rear window and the canopy. I don't know if it scratched the truck because I left the canopy on. It did eventually develop a leak in one corner. You might ask a canopy installer if it is possible to remove the front window and install a boot.
