Fuck with the wiring at your own peril. Plenty of threads here about wiring aftermarket issues. Tacoma's do not like you screwing with the wiring/electrical. Do a quick search to get the sad stories. Some have been successful, but there has also been a bunch of broken trucks.

If you don't know what you are doing, don't fuck with it.

I've added pop and lock using a homemade t-harness(thanks to TW members with the detailed instructions)
I've added glass break sensor which comes with a t-harness
I've added remote start using a purchased t-harness and cell module which plugs in to the remote start unit

And the reason for the t-harnesses is what he said, don't mess with wiring unless you know what you are doing

AND DON'T BUY ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES UNTIL YOU KNOW HOW TO ADD THEM.

Sorry that I can't help you with your issue. I can only give my advice to others before they end up in the same situation

    Don't get discouraged!!!
It's not difficult but does take a little research.
I wired in a Gentex with that dims, has compass and homelink in my SR (stock =no auto dimming or other power) about 2 months ago. I'm very happy with it.
The biggest challenge was to get the right pigtail/wire harness to use. The guy who sells these mirrors was a huge help!...

I used an add-a-fuse and wire T tap and routed the wiring down the A pillar and into the fuse box. It took me an hour after getting help from forum members. If I had to do all over again I could probably do it in 15 minutes from start to finish with beer included.

If you have all of your wiring to the fuse box already you're 5 minutes away from done.
    PM me if you need.
