Just bought a new 19 Tacoma TRD Off Road Long Bed. Looking to lift 3". I put on a lot of miles per year. Around 35k. Light offroading dirt roads and such on weekends hunting and fishing. Not so concerned about fuel economy as I am longevity due to the high amount of miles I drive.

I've read a lot of the posts here and other places on line. Having a hard time trying to find info on longevity of certain lift kits. Don't mind spending the money for a quality lift that will last.

Any recommendations on to what I should be looking at?

You will probably want to stay under 3" on a 3rd Gen as that is generally the threshold for introducing other problems (CV angles, driveshaft angles, etc.).

As far as the lift lasting there is not much to a 2-2.5" lift besides shocks, springs, and, if geometry dictates, control arms. Those will typically last as long as the OEM components as long as you're not beating on them. The higher-end, serviceable shocks (Fox, King, ADS, ICON, etc.) will have maintenance intervals that will shrink with more off-road use.

If you are wanting something that is more or less maintenance free look at Bilstein 5100s F/R, OME 887 coils, a 3-leaf add a leaf, and see how your alignment looks after. This will net you ~2". You can get JBA or LR upper control arms if needed to bring your caster into an acceptable range (these have standard, sealed ball joints that required less servicing than uniballs). The 5100s are a solid entry-level shock that can be thrown away when they wear out without too much heartache.

I have the 887 springs, 5100s front and rear, SPC UCAs and a 3 leaf AAL in the rear, very pleased with the setup.

Did you have any driveline vibes after installing this kit? I had a complete 2” ARB old man emu kit installed to past Saturday and I’m having vibrations when coming to a stop from ~20-25mph and slight vibes at 65~ looking into shims but not sure if it’ll help, put the FK29 carrier bearing drop that came with the kit right off the bat, not sure if it even needed it

No vibes at all. I did the ECGS bushing during the install as a preventive measure, so far so good.

Are you putting the lift yourself or have buddies to help?

35k a year, I wouldn’t even bother getting highend coilovers. Not sure if your able to have your vehicle down for a week or longer depending on what brand you go with. Some take longer than others to be rebuilt, unless you have the ability to rebuild the coilovers yourself. From looking over peoples reviews bilsteins seem to last longer than others. The new Bilstein 8112/8100 have gone past 30k miles without rebuild. They don’t even have a suggested rebuild time lol.

Like others have said. I’d rather go with 5100s and what ever OME spring that suits your needs. Just my opinion tho.

But hey if you got the money grab Some ADS coilovers.
