Does anyone know how to properly install axle shims? I know the thin side needs to pointed to the front, I can’t find instructioms anywhere, I purchased the RZS slotted style shims since the other style said it wouldn’t fit the locating pin on Dakar springs without being drilled out.

My question is: has anyone had experience with these under Dakar leaf springs and did you need a longer bolts / axle pins for them to work properly?

did you already install the leaf Springs? Are you getting vibes? Some people need the shims, some people don't. It depends upon the truck. You will need to have extended bolts with the shim spacers for the bolts. Did you already do the carrier bearing drop? to add in the shims, you will need to clamp the leaf spring together using heavy-duty clamps, unscrew the bolt on the leaf spring, put the spacer onto the extended bolt, put the bolt through the bottom of the leaf going all the way to the top, tighten down the nut on the both, then add the shim with the bigger end facing towards the front in between the axle and the leaf spring so the front of the axle is slightly tilted upwards. It will generally depend upon how big your lift is to depend upon what degree shim you are going to use.

What are the spacer for, would these come with replacement center pin sets?

The spacer on the bolt extends the head of the bolt so it can go through the shim and still have enough to seat into the hole of the axle. You can but extended bolts just in case to make sure that the bolt is ling enough to except the spacer and still have enough on the top to tighten the nut.

Understood what length bolts should I get for these shims?

Yes mainly at highway speeds and when stopping at a light, already took some measurements my working angle at my pinion is 3 degrees off

I'm getting vibrations from 20-25mph & 25-20mph. I have a King 2.5 inch lift with dakar medium in the rear. Vibes are there in 4wd also, ruling out the needle bearing. I also already have a CB drop. Would these shims work and how do i know what degree i need?

Usual rule is one degree per inch of lift. A lot are going with 3 degree shim. As for if it works, have to try it, to see if it does. It is helping most that do it.

Sweet. I might order those 3 degree ones from the link they posted up top. It's $30 for shims + bolts. Seems fairly easy to install also

Edit: Just placed my order. Question, if these don't solve my vibes, should I remove them? Or just leave them on?

I have the same vibrations and only have a 1" block in the rear. Problem is my leaf pack is the TSB pack and already has a shim installed. So do I replace the 1" flat block with a 1 degree tapered block from lowrangeoffroad.com or pull the TSB shim and replace it with a 2.5 degree shim? Anyone know the degree shim used in the TSB leaf pack? 2018 TRD OR brand new came with a shim

You have to measure your angles of the drive shafts, pinion and carrier bearing, they have to be within a certain tolerance, I checked them with my phone but you’ll be much more accurate using a digital protractor

Typically you can leave them but if you still have vibration you’ll need to look at adjusting the carrier bearing which you’ll likely have to do

Did you measure with the iPhone app? The one that's a "leveling tool"?

I downloaded the Clinometer app, your not going to get the most accurate measurements with it though because it’s hard to hold the phone steady enough for a perfectly accurate reading but it’ll give you an idea, I’d invest in a digital protractor from harbor freight.

Looks like that driveline has some crazy vibes like mine, maybe 3* or 4* shims and a FK29 drop will help correct those angles not sure though.

If I have to I’m going to invest in a one piece drive shaft and call it a day lol these drive shafts are way to finicky
