I've got a 2001 that looks identical as a backup up vehicle. Got a great deal on it but the shocks and struts were blown. My wife got a quote for $2500 to swap them out. I took that opportunity to tell her I could lift it for half the cost by myself. Got a 2" OME lift on it and it looks and rides great! Removing and replacing the rear shocks is a pain in the ass!

I was just wondering what the VT law is for front tint. Was thinking about doing a little just to help with the sun but I guess not.

In high school I had my old 1st gen Reg cab at 5% all around.. as did a lot of my friends haha. Kinda rediculous when I think about it now but man was that nice on sunny days. I got away with it for a while only getting pulled over once and went and got my inspections done in July with the windows down. Just as he was about to apply the sticker the last time he rolled up the drivers windows and made me pull it all off. NEVER AGAIN will I put myself through the tedious task of scraping off all that glue..

I like my window tint so much that you all are talking me out of ever considering living in VT. Such a beautiful state. but. What a joke!! At the end of the day its just the Government sticking their hands farther into our pockets! Just a stupid excuse to get someone on the side of the rode and give them a ticket! Police officers have bigger fish to fry! Trust me, I know. End Rant. Happy Friday TW :)

I will say that this was when I lived in Maine. I’ve only been in VT less than a year. It’s more a safety thing for the officers I think. Among other things

I agree it is to protect the officers because illegal tint at night, they wouldn't be able to see what is going on while walking up to the vehicle. I honestly didn't spend much time researching tint laws before I got my windows tinted. I made a terrible assumption because everyone I knew had tint. And I just wanted my fronts to match my rear tint, so that was what I asked for. I'm going to probably just peel it off and clean it. Go to the station and show them it is off. Then get 50% tint for my fronts.

Now, my only issue with what I went through Wednesday is I was pulled over for tint after 3.5 years with it. That was his reasoning and only reasoning was tint. As I was sitting there, I just watched car after car go by with dark window tint. Heck, probably a few people speeding also. Plus, this was at 10 am, so it was pretty light out. And my tint isn't so dark that you couldn't see in my vehicle during the daytime. Next, my township and the township that I was pulled over in are pretty low crime areas in the NW suburbs of Chicago. If I lived in a high crime area, then I can justify being pulled over for tint. The officers are probably more on edge in higher crime areas.

I agree, the laws are to protect the officers so they are aware of what is going on in the vehicle as they are walking up to it. But, I wasn't speeding or driving like a mad man, I wasn't changing lanes without a signal, I wasn't tailgating. In fact, I was going the speed limit and I was actually behind other cars. I remember seeing the officer sitting there and I thought to myself he must be looking for speeders. Maybe it was just dumb luck that this officer hates window tint or he was just in one of those moods. But, to me after 3.5 years with this tint, I'm just baffled that it happened now and there was no other reason than just being tinted windows.

Sorry man, just now seeing this. Once I put the new suspension on I got about 3.25”s and no rubbing at all with the 285/75r16 except for a small plastic piece on the front fender liner. I had to cut it an inch and no cmc.

Yeah, from what I've gathered and what has been told to me by both State Police and local guys, they usually won't bother you unless you're doing other things. Or they're in a bad mood.

My truck has been tinted for 10 years, going back 2 previous owners and neither of them were ever bothered about it. On the other hand, I had a friend get pulled over 5 minutes after getting off the highway in VT on the return trip from getting his tint done in Massachusetts.

Installed LCE Headers and 22" Magnaflow exhaust. Switched from Flowmaster 40 Series to the larger Magnaflow. Was tired of the ricey sound. Now has a quiet deep tone that is amazing and can definitely feel the difference with the LCE Headers. AWESOME!!! Also, replaced the valve cover gaskets and cleaned the MAF and Throttle Body.

Got the A pillar ram mount and GTA bluetooth kit installed last night around midnight while the Boston Butt had it's own little party in the smoker. The ram mount is so great I might put another on the passenger side but for an ipad rather than my phone!

If you think VT is bad, you'd absolutely hate Saudi Arabia. I used to work for an automotive manufacturing plant and you could always tell a car going down the line was destined for Saudi, we called them "fishbowls". No tint what so ever on any window. Makes a car look so strange without even having factory tint on the rear windows.

Put in a k&n intake thanks to @fuzz master. Not positive, but think I'm loosing gas mileage cuz I really love the sound.. 20190117_155750.jpg also put some wrap on the hood. Have some left over, may do something on the tailgate..

Got my navigation install 75% done. Now I have to make custom wiring harnesses and correctly install the GPS and XM/SIRIUS antennas. When it's 100%, I'll post a write up/how to.

3 and 1/2 weeks later, I finally have my Caliraised LED ditch lights and brackets. First impressions are that they are pretty bright in the day light, but I’m excited to see how the perform at night. Install was beyond easy. Here’s some pics, ill update at night when i can get some better output shots.

If you have a bad feeling about a vehicle when you pull it over. (Blacked out window tint and the driver doesn't immediately roll the window down) You get on your loud speaker before ever approaching the vehicle and order the driver and all passengers to roll all windows down and put their hands out. At least that's how I remember it being taught.

hahaha There are lots of reasons why I would never live in Saudi Arabia. #1 being how they treat their women like subordinates. My wife handles her own, vary rarely does it get to the point where she has to call me in for back up. I am not talking feminist crap either, she will just shove a whole plate full of knowledge down your throat. Leave you questioning yourself. Only person that can get at me!

I am not posting again, until its about my Taco! :)
