    Hi Folks,

I recently purchased the Unholy Dashmount on my 2018 Tacoma and ran into a little problem. Basically, the ring piece that screws into the vent "spins" around rendering the entire kit useless - but I do know it's my fault.

The problem I have is that the bottom fastening screw (the one that has that little "nub" thing) never catches on anything and just spins around when I fasten the screw. I was wondering if anyone had this problem before and what I am supposed to do to get that bottom screw to fasten tightly. The top 2 screws fasten nice and tight so I'm pretty sure its that bottom screw causing the problem.

I had the same issue, what I did, pop the dash trim piece off which will contain the vent, then you can pop the vent off, and hold the back and snug the crap out of it. Worked fine for me. OR, you can use a small screwdriver or needle nose pliers and hold it through the vent while you tighten.

Thank you for the recommendation, I'll give this a try.

Just out of curiosity, what is that "nubby" thing supposed to do? Is it supposed to lean up against something in the vent?

Thank you, that helps a lot! There's no doubt that this little "nubby" thing is floating in free space .. definitely installed is wrong

Ya that nubby thing is what pulls up against the inside of the vent to hold the ring in place. Once you get it installed, I bet you find it very useful. I love mine, makes using maps/waze nice and easy, which is more that I can say for the Entune system.

From what I learned is that the Allen bolt is still too far out in your case. So take the whole mount off and screw in the Allen just a hair more while holding onto that little "foot" looking thing. Then when you go to mount it should catch and not spin. I have two of these unholy mounts and I have become pretty good at fastening them.
The nubby thing grips the vent behind a small lip.

That did the trick! That darn nub was too far out and thank you everyone for the help!

As far as the Entune/GPS system goes, thankfully that was not a buying point for me since I'm just too far addicted to Waze to trust any other GPS system out there :)

I run mine without the bottom screw, still stout as hell. Holds my iPad Pro 9.7” with no issues, and doesn’t hinder the vent as bad.
