Anybody try this? Not sure that I want to build a box behind the center console so I was searching for another alternative. I don't need extreme bass, just a clean sound. I have components up front and I just need some crisp bass to get a fuller sound. Checked the Kicker CVT652 (10CVT652).

They say it will work well in a ported box but just wondering if they will run ok on free air with the suicide door space. I'm thinking of beefing up the ********* 6.5 inch mount and the clearance looks fine. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

you would need to measure the depth of the area where the speakers will mount in the door. i know there was a product before for access cabs where you could fit i think it was 8" subs in their, it was a new panel, but i think they stopped production of it, not too sure though

you could essentially seal that space and use it as a sealed enclosure but you need to try and figure out how many cubic ft you have and compare your findings to the recommended air volume for the speaker. you cant compare ported to free air because ports are usually tuned by the diameter and length of the port. free air speakers are normally advertised as free air.
from my and many others experience, free air subs are pretty much useless, unless you go with a really high-end unit.

I see. I was thinking of sealing that door but I will check the specs again and see if it could work with that small area of space. More research to do.
