    No thanks needed!
Glad to help out by sharing my experiences!!

Also remember they may want you to leave the truck there.
Pretty sure the suit only provides a loaner for the week of the frame swap.
My dealer gave me the choice to keep it until the time of the swap.
    And I did.

Bingo. Driver and passenger side where the rear cats sit. Frame inspection scheduled for next Saturday.

I believe that the duration of the loaner depends on whether your truck is deemed unsafe or not. My truck had a frame like swiss cheese, and there was no way they were going to let me drive it out of the dealership. They put me in a loaner (brand new top of the line Taco) for 2 1/2 months.

I have no idea what the criteria might be for 'safe' vs. 'unsafe', and presumably it's up to the individual dealership to make that call. I must say, it was fun driving around in what I called my 'Cadillac Taco' for a while, but I was real glad to get my truck back...

Put a 10mm open end wrench by it that’s what the dealer did with mine.

I can stick a 10mm diameter bolt in both holes. I just started tapping on the frame all over with a ball peen hammer. Got to where the cats are and it just started flaking away.

Not sure myself but yes it was nice to run their new rig.
Dealer gave me a loaner for 2 weeks. Mine took 3 days and sat for in the lot for the rest.
Pretty sure the suit says a week but there again the dealerships are all different.
I’ve seen the dealer put people in rental cars and also them just providing you a new taco til yours is done.
They tried giving me a tundra told them I wanted the taco it was nice but I missed mine!
    Their loaner was no charge!

Hi Jeff, the dealership kept my truck, and gave me a Camry. They said since corporate isn't open today, they will call me Monday. (I just realized Monday is a holiday, so corporate will be closed.) When I asked about providing my own parts, the service writer said no problem at all. We didn't talk much more than that. I am guessing they know it will fail, but cannot say anything due to legalities.

Georgie, that made my day hearing that, with the new frame not only will the longevity of your Tacoma increase, but so will its resale value. These motors, for the most part, are bulletproof, with the frame perforation being the biggest thing that retires them. I was looking for your posting earlier, so you will basically have a new truck after the new frame and any parts you decide on.

Wow, you made my afternoon! Soooo...should I go ahead and order a few parts I know I need? I need UCAs and front shocks. This dealership is far from my home/work and not in an area I know. Edit..I meant to say I can't go back and forth everyday.

A camary crap should have mentioned to tell them you want a truck!
Think now about what parts you want and have them ready!
    Good job!
You did your homework and knew what you where talking about!
    Truck will be like new!
It saved mine made in Mexico or not!

I would replace anything that needs to be done while it's apart and you should save on labor if you supply the parts.

Sweet, I'll have a California made cab on a Mexican made frame.

You made me laugh. I did ask for a truck, and they said a oh, someone just got the Tacoma. Blah, blah...They told me they will call me tomorrow if the other rental truck comes back. I just sent them another e mail, reminding them.

The problem is I don't know what parts I need other than what my mechanic has told me. UCAs and Front shocks.

    It’s all good!
    What’s your budget?
    Body mounts radiator mounts!
    Power steering rack bushings.
    Shocks and ucas.
I wish I’d had done ucas.
I would do the intermediate steering shaft.
I did power steering rack and lines. Prolly didn’t need them but they put the new in for free.
They will inspect it and let you know what they find.

Haha just click on my pic and start a conversation.

    Sway bar bushings also!
