So I'm looking at getting some new tires for my 3rd gen TRD off road. I'm trying to decide between the Nitto trail grappler's and the BF Goodrich all-terrain T/A KO2's. I'm only planning on doing might off roading in the near future so unless the Nitto's comparable road noise/ gas mileage, I'll probably go with Goodrich. Anyone think otherwise? (On a side note I do think the Nitto's look a lot cooler lol)

I've run BFG KO'2s for many years trouble free mostly highway driving. Got easily over 40,000 miles out of each set. I did run some Nitto Terra Grapplers for a set. They were fine probably better mpg on the road but changed back to BFG for the aggressive look.

I was looking at the Terra's, but I didn't see an option on their site for 16" rims.

I can actually get the BFG's for cheaper at Costco right now. And I believe they come with free rotation and balance for the life of the tire. I need to give them a call to confirm it though.

I was just looking at Discount Tire online. They have a D and E rated Terra Grappler 265-75-16 for $180 ea.

I know you inquired on the much beefier Trail Grappler. I just didn't have experience with them.

I really like those, but they're also $40 more each compared to the BFG's... But I really like them... Hmmm...

Yeah I will say they're not the best on rain slicked roads...

BFGoodrich tires are amazing. I've been running them on my truck for the last 6 months, and they're a good tire. I did not seem to notice any lack of performance in the rain, and mud. I have them in size 265/75/16 (E load) on the stock 2nd gen Off Road wheel.

That said, I ran them for many years and never had an issue getting where I'm going in the rain. There are many factors that contribute to truck handling in the wet obviously. I wouldn't give them a second thought if I go that route next time!

If you're going to buy a bigger size, they won't mount them cause they're not OEM size.
