I’ve played around with the bulb thinking it wasn’t seated properly in the headlight but I can’t seem to do much to correct it. I switched bulbs too. The right headlight is significantly brighter than the left one. My guess is maybe the projectors can’t handle the aftermarket HID’s and that’s possible damage? What are your thoughts?

The headlight itself looks fine. No burn marks or anything. I had this issue in a previous set of HID’s I had.

if they are aftermarket bulbs it is very possible one is slightly defective or wrong lumen color

I’ll mess around with it one more time, I’ll switch the ballasts/bulbs around to tinker with them. Could be a bulb issue and not a headlight projector issue. Thanks man!

Another possibility from looking the drivers side output. Notice the circle developing? Could be the heat of the bulb is melting the reflective material in the back of the projector. Had this on a BMW I previously owned. Bought it used and the previous owner tried using HIDs in the halogen projectors and it melted the reflective material. I have a photo of it somewhere. I'll try to find it and post it up.

The 16+ Tacoma’s have projectors so I don’t think that could be a possibility. I’m sure there’s something going on with the left projector though.

There could be a difference between halogen projectors and HID projectors. HIDs put off a lot more heat than a halogen bulb. Just say'n that a halogen projector may not be able to take the heat of an HID bulb.
