We live in MA but my wife travels a lot for work. She was in dc and was side swiped by a concrete truck. The driver yelled out his window asking her if she was hurt but then drove off before she could get his information. All she got was the name of the company on the side of the truck.

The police report clearly states the truck driver was at fault but doesn’t specify the company name, it just says “unidentifiable driver”. My wife called the company and the person on the other end of the line said they’d take care of it but it’s been over a week and no contact.

Our insurance company is saying we are responsible for the deductible since the other driver can’t be identified, they are claiming that’s how our state works and it’s not just them. They said they tried to call the concrete company and are getting hung up on and there’s nothing else they can do. I’m claiming BS but I’m not sure what else to do now.

    Suggestions?

I would hire a DC attorney to send the company a demand letter.

    Kingston73,

1st, glad she is ok...………….2nd, that concrete company has dispatch logs for EVERY load for that day and drivers HAVE TOO SIGN that ticket for delivery.... your insurance company can "drop a dime" on the DC DOT and put the heat on.....

Sorry for your BS and asshole companies like that piss all of us off....
