Thanks man. It's a fun family car for sure.

Caddy decided to keep the base cts rear end that barely can handle the stock ls6 HP which is about 360hp to the wheels. It also has major wheel hop. The stock 8.8 can handle about 600whp. Upgraded axles it can handle 1000+whp.

Ohhhh I see now. Guess GM was trying to save money by sticking the base rear end. 600 HP!! that will be a fast fun family car lol.

Yeah goal I'd about 470whp on motor and 600whp on the bottle. Decided to go nitrous instead of supercharger.

First oil change. Mobil 1 5w-30 full synthetic and AC Delco extra capacity oil filter. Need to clean out the garage. Burned the clutch a.little with my driveway incline and lift ramps. Lol.

That CTSV needs aftermarket cyl heads and ported LSA blower that should get you about 850rwhp

I almost sold my 1996 4runner to buy a zl1 lsa charger but didnt do it. I think I might just do cam and bolt ons to get her near 500whp. It's more than enough for a DD.

When you swap the Ford 8.8, are you going to use a solid axle or an IRS?

My Mustang has a solid 8.8 with 3.55 gears, and it had crazy wheel hop when I first bought it. After upgrading the upper and lower control arms and adding lowering springs, it's much more stable and does exactly what I want during "spirited driving."

    Nice car!

Definently keeping it IRS. Using the early cobra mustang or Lincoln 8.8 and 1000hp half shaft axles. With few mods it will no hop much. Still want to keep that daily driver feel.

FWIW, you could also get the 8.8 IRS in the Thunderbird/Cougar, just in case you spot one at a salvage yard or CoPart.

I had a ‘96 Cougar that came from the factory with the 8.8 IRS with 3.27 LSD. I would always surprise people with that car by leaving a red light sideways.

Yea I will be looking at anything. I really need it to have the 373 and lsd to make the swap easier and cheaper. Those are cool cars though!
