Hi, the doors on my 2017 tacoma won't unlock when it's very cold outside. The only door that unlocks it the driver's. I try with my fob by double clicking the unlock and nothing happens, even pressing the unlock button on the driver's door won't unlock the doors. I have to start the truck and let it run for a bit, then the doors unlock. It's annoying when I have to go somewhere with my wife and can't unlock the doors until the truck ran for a bit.
Does anyone else has that problem and what has been done to fix it. Needless to say that as I get to the dealer the problem cannot be duplicated since the truck is warmed up.

Guess you will have to leave the truck overnight at the dealership for them to duplicate it.

While true (I used Carista to tweak the little things) the OP's is truck is apparently defective.

    Simple as that.

Reach over and open the passenger door for her.

While a nice idea... the solution is to repair the faulty system, not change personal behavior

The OP states he's literally delaying departures while waiting for the truck to warm. Sounds like the temporary but immediate solution would be to lean over and open the door until he can drop the truck off for a couple days..

You forgot to include obvious in your temporary/immediate solution... in that case I agree :boink:

The dealership is 2.5 hour drive from home it's not really convenient to leave overnight but I might have to do it before the warranty is up. I believe I tried to open the back doors manually but could not, since it's going to be -31C tonite and need the truck tomorrow, I'll try to manually open the doors.

Check the door strikers and latch mechanisms for grease. Sometimes they will be severely overgreased which makes them sticky in the cold and they won’t function.

I worked with a asshole that had a similar problem, but none of his door would open.

Due to it being minus 2 degrees that night and almost everyone on the third shift crew taking turns pouring water over his car may have had something to do with it.
