Hopefully by 'stack whatever you need' you mean a jack stand, lol. I'm picturing someone stacking rocks under the axle and teetering the truck on it while they change a tire...

Have to use what you have available. It’s not ideal and I would never do it at home but it can get by in a pinch.

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
    1) Full size D handle or straight handle shovel
    2) Hi lift with a lift mate
    3) Air compressor and your favorite deflator
    4) Snatch strap, a couple soft shackles, and a hitch pin

Hi Lift isn’t for changing tires, that’s what the factory jack is for. The Hi Lift is for lifting the wheel off the ground and stacking rocks or other locally sourced material under the tire enabling you to drive off.

Get gloves, a long strap and a couple of 3/4 shackles. There's a couple of old jean legs in my outfit for softening sharp corners (slides over the strap and doubles back). I've also got a Hi-Lift Jack (since 82) and never regreted it. The older trucks had real bumpers, these don't - so you also need a lift-mate to pick a wheel. A canvas tarp folds up small and provides whole lot of dry or insulation when you need it - or to saddle a tensioned rope or strap.

Here is my setup. Coffing industrial hoist (come along on steroids, found a good deal on Ebay), Amsteel winch cable extension, tree straps, recovery strap, D rings, trailer hitch adapter for rings for rear recovery, extra snatch block. Also added a true recovery point to the front of the truck.
