    Hello,
Im new to ‘TacomaWorld’ and am a new owner of a 2018 Tacoma. Have never owned a truck before but had some concerns about the engine sounds 2nd day of ownership. When I took it in 4 months ago, and asked to listen to other Tacoma’s with same engine (4cylindar), I did not hear the same ‘knocking’ ‘clanking’ sounds... just hoping some seasoned taco owners could verify this is a ‘Normal’ sound, as the dealership rudely told me. Truck is back in the dealership shop for the past 20 days, 1500 miles on it for charcoal canister valve replacement and still was not passing the testing...

After heated complaints to customer service, 4 hours later, somewhat conveniently, called to tell me of reported/suspected rat damage to a fuel line...

Been in the shop for an accumulation of 22 days (nearly a quarter of our ownership).. Bummed and frustrated.

Sorry to hear that man, sounds rough. Sounds like a shitty dealership as well. As long as you go into a place with a positive attitude you should never receive backlash especially from a sales rep who knows jack squat about engines. Good luck with everything and hopefully they find the problem.

So so sorry about the title, my bad!

And, thank goodness I’m not the only one who has had problems with the so-called-‘customer service’... honestly thought it was because I’m a woman, which fueled the fire even more.

    Any thoughts on engine sound?

Do you have a friend with the same set up as you to compare it too. It does sound fairly normal.

No worries we try to help as many people as possible. Sometimes you’ll get a heater of a thread going and you have to dig through the bullshit but someone will answer.
