Jack point for tire rotation

I checked the manual of my 2017 Tacoma and see that the tire rotation direction is front to back on each side. I wonder if i can jack up one side each time with my two jack stands under the arm near the wheels instead of body frame suggested in the manual because it needs to jack the vehicle much higher to put the jack under the front crossmember due to the droop. What is the safe and convenient way to do the tire rotation?

 

Here’s how I jacked the front to get both front wheels off the ground. Obviously it’s not good to use the long wood block. I’m looking to buy a bigger floor jack now. If I just want to jack one tire up where should I put the floor jack?

 

Run yourself over to harbor freight and pick these up and use the coupons (they can scan your phone or input the number manually). The jack is high enough to lift both front tires off the ground when you jack from the center jack point. And the stands are tall enough to not need blocks. I use both very regularly (a few times a month) and they're going strong for 4 years now.

 

I lift the rear end up with my jack then put the back up on jack stands.

Then I go to the front and do them individually. It’s quite simple.

You mean use 4 jack stands to lift both front and back off the ground?

 

I suggest the rear cross rotation method, unless you like heel-toe wear.
I do a 4 wheel rotation, using the spare as a 'placeholder'.

 

a local Tire dealer rotates mine for $20

 

My local dealer charges $40

 

That’s what I thought before I checked the manual. Maybe there’s a reason for newer Tacoma’s?

I just did mine last week, noticed the Manual says front to back so I did it that way.

I always do version *B. If your tires are feathering/cupping, doing *A it will never correct/balance the feathering/cupping out. Non directional tires only.

Short of a winter tire, I just don't see that being much of a factor.
