After 8 hrs of research trying to find a brake controller as close to what might be oem for occasional use with the Casita, thats the one!
    Thanks for posting.
Where did you find or how did you make the backing plate?

Also did it come with the wiring harness from the main module to the OEM connector behind the kick panel?
I contacted Curt but haven't heard back yet.

Hey TACO Outlaw, for what it's worth, I agree with you...my towing needs are simple, and the clean/hidden look of the REDARC will be a significant advantage for me. I've had one of the external mount controllers in my Highlander for a decade and it has worked flawlessly and I'm very happy with it...except for the recurring bruising on my left knee :) I am about as graceful as a brick, and anywhere I mount an external box will be a right royal PITA for me, alas.

What switch plate did you use to mount the controller? I really like the plate that forty2skates offers, but that space is already spoken for, the only spot left is that single on the bottom row.

    Thank you!

I use the RedArc brake controller (installed in the fotry2skates with RedArc and two extra large switch holes, not sure if you saw that one or the single RedArc version only)

    https://www.shapeways.com/product/3...edarc-towpro?optionId=63983174&li=marketplace

Some folks have taken out the large switch hole cover and dremeled out a hole for the RedArc remote head (takes some practice and trial/error)... Amazon sells the large switch cover plate in case you need to “redo” or wish to retun to factory condition later.

The Redarc is a damn nice looking system... but after towing for 30+ years and trying every controller under the sun... it would be tough for me to give up my P3 for it.
The P3 is by far the best brake controller Ive ever used. I will gladly deal with the clumsy appearance.

I've used a prodigy p2 in my 2012 and now in my 2018. The same controller.
It fits well in the cubby above the buttons on the left, just drill a hole in the back for the wires.
Not sure p3 is worth the added money.

I have the original/P1/first model Prodigy- will the ESP cutout fit? The contour of the case of the units appear the same.

Just stuff it in the tray. Some folks mount in various locations however just putting it in the unused tray is the best choice. Get a prodigy and it will fit like a glove.you'll be able to actually see it while you're driving rather than having it down by your feet.
