On backorder even from Ham Radio Outlet?

This is the model I was thinking about getting, but I was going to wait until I actually got my call sign after the shutdown.

@mountainmonkey or anyone else who can help...

Are you using bluetooth to plot station information from the d710 on an android tablet? If so I'm curious what you're using for the bluetooth connection and how you set that up. I think I need a bluetooth to serial adapter and data cable but I'm not 100% based on what I have read.

Also, do you have a config file for the d710? I have the software and programming cable already but havent attempted to do anything yet.

I have not yet plotted aprs data on a tablet. So far I have just been using the native aprs info displayed directly on the unit. However at some point I plan to link the radio to my android tablet with a mobilinkd tnc to plot that stuff on the tablet.

I also can’t help with a config file either. I’m a cheap ass so I just programmed mine with the mic and never bought the cable/software. Sorry man!

The current TM-D710G has GPS built in, the older TM-D700A and TM-D710A did not. Had to use an external device.

Yep. Exactly this. $350 for a used 710A vs prices of over $500 for the 710ga. I have even seen them at absurd prices of over $1000 on Ebay.

I got the d710g at the Dayton hamfest discount last year. I too have had to program it via the mic as the cable for my previous radio was different. I've looked at rt systems for programming since they make a USB cable. I've not looked into mapping it to a tablet yet as I have not been off pavement since last spring
