Holy fack it's cold out there! -25 wind chill. Within 1 minute I'm shaking like Yahtzee dice.

 

Put some windproof clothes on. Problem solved.

to be fair, that was this A.M., it's a few degrees warmer now


I'm enjoying this eclipse, but I'll wait for all'y'alls photos, I won't be getting much

from all the cat pictures you post i assumed you worked at a cat sanctuary, this is much more impressive.. kudos!

 

Nah no cat sanctuary haha, gotta work for em a little. Pretty fun though.

I can almost feel my fingers now. Almost. -5° not sure what windchill was. 30 year old LL Bean knee length wool coat and Filson wool hat. Some midweight wool long johns and I was almost sweating. But damn glasses kept fogging up and icing over so was shooting blind most of the time. Only had a few keepers. At least fingers are starting to work again.

Blew the focus on all of mine. Should have gotten out there before it was eclipsed. Oh well, I'm not going back out. Can't feel my fingers as it is. Straight out of camera no editing (other than a crop) and not a entry.

Last pic I took before heading back inside. The first few suffered from camera shake (forgot to bring my remote shutter release) and I should've bumped up the ISO a bit more to get rid of motion blur, but for a low-res web pic it looks OK.

As mentioned above, I was limited this time to 85mm, so I just made the most of what I had on hand...

 

What is that technique called if you don't mind me asking? First seen it in Japan in the 70's on embroidered silk calendars, usually with birds. A gentleman in Hong Kong often posts pictures of birds in flight on Pentax Forums using that method. I really like it, a lot.

 

Did you hike to this location or is it off of Rocky Gap Road somewhere?

 

This is right off the loop, Oak Creek, down where you have flooding in spring.

 

Thank you....if this has a name, I'm not aware of it. There's probably a way to do this in camera, but I processed the photos in Capture One, and then stitched them together in Photoshop.
