None that I've noticed. Maybe a bit on a turn with compression.

    Mostly stuff I built.

They work great in the sand at the proper air pressure. When you air them down you get a much longer narrow tread patch to carry the weight and help you float on the sand. The long narrow tread patch will have less rolling resistance than than a wider one. The sand does not dam up infront of the tires nearly as bad as it will with a wider tire. I have run them on several of my rigs and we spend a considerable amount of time on Padre Island surf fishing and kayak fishing in the bay from Yarborough pass. Skinnies kill it in the sand.

Anyone know if these will rub with 255/85/16 on a stock 4x4 SR?

Once you move beyond stock wheels or stock suspension, it's almost impossible to predict whether or not a particular set of aftermarket wheels will rub and require chopping/trimming/etc.

Your best bet is to find someone with the specific wheels you're interested in and ask them directly.

What aftermarket wheels are you guys running with this tire size and stock suspension? Looking to change the look of the wheels and still avoid any potential rubbing

Why would we do that? That takes effort.

95% sure I'll be jumping on the 255/85r16 train this week. CXT here I come.

Okay, had 255/85r16 ST Maxxs installed last week on my stock OR, and at speeds above 30 I feel some back and forth "wander" that wasn't there before. The shop aired them to 50 and I haven't dropped them to ~34psi yet. Is this something anyone has experienced?

50 psi Is way to high unless your're towing a dump truck. I run 30 in the winter for better wet pavement traction and 35 in the summer. On severe trails I'll go down to 15-20 psi.

I had the same issue with my skinnies when the tire shop aired them up to 42 psi.

@thedriza is correct about the pressures. That said, it's also fairly common to experience increased wandering with the taller skinny tires at higher speeds. It's usually not terrible, but certainly noticeable.

You are gonna get that with a narrow tire. They follow the load depressions in the road more readily than a wider tire will. You are also going to get some “tread squirm” out of them also because of the narrow width.
