Are the days of getting 300k-400k miles gone from Toyota? Or can we expect to get more than that?

Yes yes I know it depends on how well you take care of it...

New motor with transmission....what shall we expect? Only time will tell I guess?

    Some stuff
With a line-up only in its 3rd model year.... gonna be a long while before there is enough information to answer this adequately.

I will admit, I do have some concerns. However, just like anything else mechanical, proper maintenance and repair is critical.

I got mine new, so I KNEW how it was taken care of from day 1.

We have never kept a vehicle for multiple-hundreds-of-thousands of miles, but we drove our previous 4Runner for about 150k miles (8 years) and the ONLY things we did to it was oil changes, tires, and wiper blades. Ran like a champ when we traded it. We still trust Toyota quality.

No worries, Toyota products are known for longevity. My last one, an '03 Tundra had almost 300K and ran perfect, no problems, just routine maintenance.

I think a better question is can we rely on the truck for not only the mileage but also the age. Getting your truck to 200k+ miles is obviously a feat in it of itself, but I would love if the thing would last at least a decade as well!

    Yeah you can expect reliability.

Toyota is falling way behind with their engines. The reason the 3.5L and other Toyota engines suck in regards to innovation, turbo technology, etc, is because Toyota does not want to do anything that can mar its reputation for reliability. That's why the toyota 86 is NA and underpowered. Meanwhile Ford is pumping out 400hp Ecoboost V6's in their explorers and honda has a turbo 4 in the type R. Toyota is falling behind and thats the cost they are paying for making a reliable product.

You will have a reliable truck for sure, but again the 3.5L is nothing impressive. That's the trade off
