Since my hike was cancelled due to closed trails we went a little further south to Thousand Steps in Laguna. Fat, flying rats and a rock got their picture taken

    I think you'll be happy.

I have the nex6 and after i lost my over lens and only have a 55-210, i think I'd like to upgrade to maybe the a6000 for a few more MP before i buy lenses. I know they are interchangeable but i don't use my camera much anymore since cell phone works some magic and is always on me.

I didn’t think about YouTube, thanks. Think I’m gonna be kinda overwhelmed going to the new camera from what I have now.

I was too. I went from a Motorola Droid Turbo to a Nikon D7200. As @DougDeBonet said, youtube is great for know how's. I learned a ton about my camera just from that. Also @medic2230 gave me some pointers and is still doing so haha. Just take a bunch of pictures. Drastic difference in the first few pictures I took vs now.

Believe it or not, you’ll be fine as long as you know how to:

    1. switch between manual, aperture priority, and shutter priority (generally dial top left)
    2. know which dial toggles shutter speed and which toggles aperture
    3. where your ISO button is to change ISO
    4. AF point select button (which I never use... I do center dot, focus and recompose)
    5. Custom functions you may need (when more experienced and these can generally be found on the internet

I literally shot a wedding for 13 hours the other day, I only used points 1-3 lol.

I use one custom function at all times, AF button vs a half press shutter. I also use servo mode sometimes in case my subject is moving to maintain constant focus, but that’s more experience stuff. You’ll likely only need 1-4. There are so many other functions on these things that make the menus bulky for no reason.

I’m gonna have to read the manual or something, I have no idea what you’re talking about haha.

Gonna be some trail and error for sure, lots of messing around

So I am torn between the D7200 and the A6000. I like the size of the A6000 better but it seems that the 7200 has more capability.

Given almost exactly the same cost, which would you go with?

    an A6000 with 16-50mm and 55-210mm lenses
    or
    a D7200 with Nikor 18-55 and 70-300 lenses

I took some photo's of some German engineering this morning. I don't know which is my favorite to use for the challenge. :cookiemonster: :spy: Am I the only one that overthinks this stuff?
