Wanted to say hello from Louisville, Kentucky! Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

I've used Tacoma World as a resource for years and figured I'd finally join. I currently own a 2004 Tacoma 4x4 V6 MT with 155k miles. A couple days ago, I found a nice crack in my right leaf spring, so I'm looking to swap in some Dakars and new shocks here ASAP. The forums have been super helpful as I build my parts list. Thanks to everyone who contributes here!

The frame has the expected surface rust, but nothing that scares me too much. After I saw the leaf spring crack, I took it into the Toyota dealership this week to see if they would replace the frame. (15 year frame warranty ends this October). It doesn't have any perforations so I'm out of luck there. Would like to take the bed off this spring/summer and really go to town on the rust. Need to fix the leaf spring first though.

I’d go over that frame very well, and don’t rely on Toyota’s inspection. It would suck to find an issue after the frame warranty expired.

Start Spraying all the bolts you need to remove with an very good penetrating oil like "Free All" (if you can get it) or "Thrust" by Castle Chemical and some folks seems to like PB blaster that is something I have never used just do it every chance you get. Make sure you put something down under it if you park in the garage or on a nice driveway you care about.

And when doing that give the frame a good once over look for splits and holes like around where the leaf Springs mount to the frame and the outriggers where the body mounts to the frame from the picture it does not look bad but only you can determined that by poking around with a screwdriver.
