New Guy In Iowa

Just got my 17 dc trd off road quicksand tacoma. Wont do to many mods but plan to use it to take my son on trips I always wanted to go on, white rim, colorado etc. Not into offroading, more into getting to remote camping spots with my family.

First toyota, have had a few rubicons. Farm for a living so felt kind of funny already owning a ton pickup a half ton pickup and now a small pickup but loving it so far.

Plan to ask sometime what to carry when offroading (not to into offroading, more overlanding, but find the term overlanding kinda weird) for a tacoma. Not to mechanically inclined. In my jeeps I always carried specific size hose, wrenches, belts etc just in case something happened. Planning for the most basic of breaks. Fun forum. a lot less hate than other vehicle specific forums Ive been on.

Welcome! My Tacoma is used for what you are looking to do (not xtreme/serious offroading). Just to get to and from camp/hunting sites and some viewing points that are somewhat difficult to get to. Slowly modding mine =] good luck!

I know this is an older post, but where are you from? I'm the new guy on the block now, bought my first Taco in November of last year and joined this forum a few weeks before that. I'm retired, and live in Waterloo/Cedar Falls. I do a little farming with my Brother-in-law over on the other side of Alden, in Hardin County.

 

Seriously! The forum members here are nice here towards the people who ask about OVTune despite there being a megathread or people asking what size tire whats the best lift kit and all that, other forums they would’ve been ripped apart. I like it here makes me visit more often.
