Why do I get the impression the top two bolts were not torqued down correctly, torqued to much and stretched or were a tad long and bottomed out the torsion shear is uniform in direction 12 to 6 . I am betting the one on the left failed first and lifted that end cracking the other one off higher. Is the top full length bolt galled in the middle ? I am curious and can't tell are they blind holes or through and through ? Is the retention block tweaked ?

No, it clamps on a shaft that rotates maybe 30*,the spring gives it pressure to hold follower on cam.we reuse old ones rebuilt.that one had scarring but hard tell how many times its been used.and i saw that , the shaft was clean,they will scar if they start to go and slip on the shaft as its not keyed in place..the cam is bad we already knew, 2 day teardown to replace cam and maint. is getting parts ready..they put this one in Tues on maintenance day.it broke bolts and slid off cam,i put a split collar on shaft and its trapped by a hub on the other side.supv. only came out once to ask how long,may have been my (ya better get the hell back in the office stare)

thats a good thought.the 2 back bolts broke, the front 2 were not.. its just like a scope mount, id say it was not tightened ,torqued correct or evenly..ill leave it as is for Maint.oh and the holes are tapped all the way thru..
