Scenario: Waiting in line in a right lane merging onto main highway with yield sign for long line of us; heavy traffic.

Setup: I'm in my 3rd Gen 2017 MT Pro with a pristine Silver 2nd Gen in front of me.

Action: After a seemingly interminable wait, a small break appears in traffic. Silver punches it, 4.0 screaming out his exhaust at me. I startled, and grabbed first quickly (ok, I had begun to daydream). We both make the gap in car line and merged as one. I'm hitting redline in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, tucked right in behind my 2nd Gen Bro.

I pulled up alongside him once we were up to speed. He looks over, casually, and gives me a grin and the ol' thumbs up.

We are united at last, my friends. There is peace in the universe tonight.

But the other day was merging onto a highway and a semi was flying and I HATE driving behind semi’s. Had a 1/8mile merge lane he was flying I was pretty far behind, Stomped it and blew past him effortlessly. Just another day loving every second of this thing! Cheers and enjoy the ride!

Since the ECU update the 3.5 has felt up to snuff. Never driven the 4 litre though.

 

I followed a 2nd Gen up a steep highway entrance ramp, he pulled a little distance on me but I did my version of Ricer Flyby after getting up to speed.

Been posted a hundred times. The 4.0 has a little more bottom end and lower gearing. Run them to 1/4 mile or from a roll and it’s different. I’ve owned both and neither of them are fast by any means. Both are sufficient for what the trucks are designed for.

Now let’s get back to the brokeback Tacoma’s.
