Got my lights finally installed on my shell. Got the switch in the gab between the gate and bed stiffeners.

Has anyone built something similar to these boxes? I got a Leer 100rcc with windoors but want to add side storage like this. The only way to do that through the dealer is to have the fiberglass door which I dont want. So I was wondering if I can build a box like this maybe out of some thin wood?

Are talking about removing both windows?
I did it years ago on s Chevy truck and put a sleeper cab on. Complete pass through from cab to bed.

Something will pop up. In the 90's we installed tons of them, probably 80 to every 20 w/a window.

Maybe a silly question, but I have a red 2007 tacoma and looking to get a shell so I can sleep in the back when I go solo camping. How or can they match a new shell to the faded red on my truck?

Custom faded? Have you try looking for a used shell because thats the closest you gonna get to a “weathered” look.

Obviously the surfboards won't be an issue but the cargo box and awning might be. Load bars for similar roofs sometimes have mount and backing plates fitted to the curve. It looks like the roof might kink under load otherwise or have problems where the roof and sides meet the front and back panels. Additional support down to the bed rails might be overkill unless you wanted more weight up there or went offroad.
