Thanks man I love this bike! Did you buy your truck with the s/c on it or add it after? How’d you find that thing in AZ?

The truck came from CA originally...the kid had it a couple months, got divorced and had to sell. Dude in Phoenix bought it and never drove it, and I was in the market for ANY 2nd gen at the time. Got it in 2015 with 29k miles on it. It was a miracle.

From what I was told the S/C was added as part of the original purchase in CA?

    Sounds bueno!

Actually...question for you and everyone else looking into the RXTs and our stock suspension. How long do we think original suspension will last before we need to replace?

I’m approaching 70k miles now with the ICON AAL in back, everything else stock BAJA gear

**EDIT: I don’t do any heavy towing, etc...

I’ve got my set up mildly modified because I like reliability. I really haven’t done too much to the s/c itself. I am contemplating going a little smaller with my pulley however. Performance wise with my exhaust I have made drastic changes.
Here is a cool thread I follow which you can learn from since you a s/c. Anytime you a question ask one of those or myself.

So I have the same rear set up...twining again. I only got 39ish miles and wonder myself. If you don’t tow which I don’t either, it should last still some time.

Once I see major sagging I’ll do the RXT’s for sure myself.

Man you got lucky with that truck. I was about to buy a new TRD Pro 4Runner in Indy, had a great deal all worked out. The before I was supposed to drive out there from Chicago I found my truck in Iowa with 11,600 miles. Now I had to make a decision.....I picked the Tacoma and 3 months later put my s/c on it....

Depends how you use it. If you don't do heavy towing or major wheeling then of course it'll last longer. Leaf springs are one of the weakest points. I bought the RXT leaf pack like a couple months ago and STILL haven't installed them. Won't be for another a month or 2 before I finally do. I definitely see a noticeable sag when loading shit in my bed

Awesome! It’s advertised as “maintenance free” for the first 100k miles...but looks like people do preventative before then. Have you changed the oil or anything like that as you’ve modified it?

Sounds like you got lucky with yours too then. Funny how that works out for the better.
This is good info. Thanks guys.

I left the overload off when I put the progressive AAL on. Near future I’m looking to get a bed rack / RTT setup and I’m curious to see how much sag I get.

Nope, your good for the first 100k.

All I did to mine was ditch the stock belt because they are trash and are rumored to last around 10-15k miles...20k tops. (Check yours for cracks) and went 1 size down on my pulley.

I can give you a part number tomorrow to order from eBay for the belt. Also, I ordered a tune up kit from eBay which I’ll get you the link in a sec.

Bingo. I’ll get that tune up kit and new belt for sure. I bet it’s shot, or close to it.

I may be at the point where it makes more sense to get the new leaf pack and start fresh if I’m going to keep a couple hundred # back there.

First step, as always: get the wife buy-in

I ordered a couple of the Goodyear gator backs belts so I had an extra. I also ordered 2 of the tune up kits as I plan to have this truck for a while....

Love the A10 sticker man! And where the frig is gas still that expensive!?

Also @baja12nj Im running an ARB, Smittybilt 9.5k, and mobtown sliders on the stock suspension. I'd say the front dropped about half an inch when I put the ARB/winch on.. give or take a little. Ill have to find the pictures I took before / after

Dang, I did it. What a sense of accomplishment I feel. 2 days of doing jack shit at work and I have officially read all 247 pages of this thread.:humble:

Side note: I've got a leaf pack and some B110's lined up from a few local members. Bumps and ext. brake lines should finish out the plan to give the rear a little droooooop.

On to the front, does anybody in here happen to have a set of the Baja specific Toytec 1” spring seat spacers they've upgraded from and are looking to sell? Or the 1/2" top plates?:D
