    The LAST place you should ever look for reliable/safe information, is youtube.

    Only use youtube for russian dashcam crash videos.

    Rear leaf suspension. Home done tailgate re-inforcement.
    YouTube showed me how to replace the timing belt on my wife's Solara and a complete transmission oil change on the Tacoma. When my front wheel bearings go out, I will turn to YouTube for that one too.There are usually more than one videos on any subject (except a good full replacement of an 05 head gasket). If you view them all, they just may get you over a few rough spots and if you have any mechanical what so ever, you will be able do do many jobs you would not tackle without the video.

    It is a matter of choice as to what to accept, not a blanket rejection of what is shown.

    A lot of the stuff there is either vendors showing installs or actual mechanics with some videos. Only a few diy things

    The amount of information I've obtained from YouTube is unbelievable. I've rebuilt motors, installed home audio equipment, changed the motor in my washing machine, learned to play the ukulele and a million other things all from watching YouTube vids . Don't push people away from YouTube .It's an invaluable resource.

    ChrisFix is a channel I follow, doesn't work on Tacoma's, but does do a lot of other stuff that could be useful.

    I like chrisfix because he makes things easy to understand. It may not be tacoma specific, but if you can apply a principle/concept to a task, then you are on good standing.

    Southmain auto is a good one as well

    Total Chaos has great install videos for the front suspension on YT

    I also would never rely 100% on an internet video to help fix something I really care about. I use YouTube to compliment my current mechanical knowledge, and I make sure common sense prevails. Just because something works on a video doesn't mean it will work the same way for me. Sometimes have to get creative. But generally you can get a lot of helpful information from YouTube. I try to skip videos where the shop looks like garbage and the tools are disorganized or cheap.

    In my experience, the ones with fewer views are usually more informative. More views usually just means they are self promoting numb nutz. Ewe toob pays people for clicks, not for useful information.

    Let me get back to producing E-Cig unboxing videos so I can get free vap juice .

    Youtube, car forums and internet articles is how I learned to build and tune a 195hp 4 cylinder into a 400+whp v8 slayer and I was only out of high school. At 16 it was making 300whp on pump gas.

    Its help me fix many friends and relatives cars, I've even made lots of money as a shade tree mechanic.

    It even taught me small electronic repair on pcs, laptops, tablets, phones, stereo equipment, enterprise gear and even home appliances.

    It then taught me enough to land a system admin job making pretty good money with zero degrees under my belt.

    Youtube has made me who I am!!
