I saw this on the news in the AM today. Both of them have elevators that do not stop on every floor. Darwin never takes a day off.

In our house we are remodeling the Living Room. I have the go ahead to upgrade the audio system to support 4K and ATMOS.

Ken: I hear ya on the issues, I just had a second medical "Procedure" yesterday and will have the third and last in 2 weeks.

I’m a BaT follower. Bought a car from the site and thought about selling one there too, but a guy in Atlanta bought it so I never got to the point of submitting it there. I did learn a lot about how to present a car for sale online though! Maybe that’s why I sold the car so quickly? Who knows.

There are bunches of knowledgeable people who post comments on the site. Really educational. Good luck!

Good morning kids. Weather sucks. Met a guy our age at the gas station yesterday. Had a Tacoma TRD Off Road Inferno, with a matching down jacket. He look like he’s keeping himself young.

 

"Some things" is about right for me! 35 years almost 36 of marriage.l can still say or do something at the wrong time

 

Lynn and I have been married for 27 Happy years.....out of the total of 44 years we've been married. I'm a slow learner.

 

I remember hearing my father say things I thought were wrong. Now I agree with what he said.

Good morning Susan, gang, new gangsters.
Up early an hour now out on the left coast. See if I can get a old, two burner stove I was given yesterday to run. Had water in the tank, so got that out and set the tank with attached burners by the woodstove half a day to dry. Plus, my recent find, a vintage brass stove I had to unsolder the pump tube to access a part in it which would not move with a specialized tool, so surgery it was. Hate doing that as I'm not neat and it leaves some scorch marks, lowering the value considerably. Not my problem, part of my collection.

Woohoo! Won another stove, this one from low production year of 1943, coming from Check O Slo Vodka E Uh. Going the rounds with the stove that was given to me, think I have to remove a valve from the tank to clean tiny orifices in the fuel pickup tube.
A rash of storms supposed to come thru this week, starting on Tuesday.

Playing with rocks and steel to make sparks for fire. Some people make it look so easy.
I randomly get spark, but cannot get a spark consistently.
I have one piece, may be flint, flint comes from England, but I got a box of chert from a guy that is better.
I make a lot of chips on the floor, but not many sparks.

It really makes me think about the flint fired weapons of old, those people knew what they were doing. Not easy. And all while an enemy was running at them full speed.

 

I had a cold that officially ended a week ago. I still have a throat "issue"; not a sore throat, but my voice is funny and I can't talk much before it gets irritated and unhappy. Now I will say that the cold was easily the worst cold I ever had in my life, so bad that I got up in spite of my sickly state, put on a mask, and went to get checked out to be sure I hadn't fallen into pneumonia or something. But the cold is over. So what is up with this hoarse throat thing? Grumble.

 

Evening all:
Don't know about fire starting Ken, but the English flints are supposedly the best to use in the flintlocks to produce spark. The sparks are actually tiny bits of the steel being shaved off, maybe get some good hardened steel and try it.
I would think that the angle that the flint is hitting the steel would have something to do with it also, maybe just need a little practice!
If all else fails, rub a magnesium fire starter on the steel first, that should produce some spark!

Dave, I had something like you are describing a couple years ago, the throat issue did go away after awhile. Give it a little time, if it doesn't get better in a week or two, or gets worse, then best to get it checked out.
