there are a few websites out there that still have them, and at a decent price. i've contemplated pulling the trigger.

Picked up a cheap truck rig from LL Bean. Seems to have great reviews, we’ll see.
Quest- large aluminum arbor 8’6 5 wt 4 pc graphite preloaded with backing, WF floating line & leader w/ Rulon drag. Came with case too. Delivered today.
Ordered a spare reel- backordered. List price was $139.00, sale price was $119, they had an after Christmas sale on top of that. Wouldn’t tell me price until I checked out. Total new price $52.00 + tax, free shipping.

i don't streamer fish enough. i got that echo base, and it works fine for me. (the line is crap, but the rod is awesome for $99.) It does swing a little heavier though.

Yeah for the money, I think it's awesome. So around here the local Orvis store has a free Fly Fishing 101 course and if you complete the course you get a 20 or 25 percent off coupon. I sat through the class, actually ended up super helpful cause the guy knew I fished and had me work on double haul casting, and then got a new rod after the class with the coupon.

I typically buy once and cry once so I figured for the money, this setup would last me life and I won't need another 8 weight.

A fishing buddy of mine showed me a couple good spots to fish and this dude we worked with somehow got invited along...he proceeds to show up and drink beer, throwing the beer bottles in the lake!! WTF! We both chewed him out and we never asked or avoided him when he asked about going fishing again.

I havent been in the fly fishing thread in a while...didnt get to try out my stuff last year. Maybe get to try out this spring. Pike season is around the corner for us ;)

I’m not sure if this has been posted up but I’m interested to see what everyone’s weapon of choice is?

I fish New Hampshire and Vermont, mostly smaller rivers.

    Cortland pro cast 8’ 4wt

Bass pro kingfisher reel with rio trout lt

I’ve been fishing this setup for 5 years and has earned the “the go to”. I did pick up a mystic rod over last summer that I’ve enjoyed a little as well.

Well...hunting season is over, so I hit the water for an hour or so this past Tuesday. We’ve gotten a ton of rain over the last couple months, and the water is still high. But I was able to wrangle in this fella and a few other smaller fish.

I've been wanting to fish the blur ridge area. there apparently is a lot of private water around there.

But yea, the rain is kinda taking a pounding on AR too. They are generating a lot of water down the rivers, making it really hard to wade.

Either too cold or rainy here in PA to get out recently.

Haven’t been on the water in 3 weeks now.
