I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport. I purchased a Putco light blade for my truck. Even though there are videos for installing the light, the connections for the Tacoma are not readily found. Also be mindful that Tacoma’s have a hole on the back bed edge. Any light bar installed has to be removable to be able to lower the spare tire. The Putco light bar comes with brackets so that it can be snapped off, and placed back on the truck, if you have to access the spare tire hole.

The videos I saw posted were for Fords and the wire colors for the 7pin wire connection are unique for Toyota, if you are looking for a quick guide for how to splice into the right wires. I reference the 7pin connection because the 7pin/4pin combo connection has a closed plastic cover that feeds the 4 pin connection. Therefore the Putco and video instructions can’t be followed because you are forced to splice into the 7 pin wires.

    So the color key follows:
4pin black to 7pin thick white
    4pin brown to 7pin green
    4pin yellow to 7pin purple
4pin green to 7pin light blue
Reverse white to 7pin small white in the center
7pin black and dark blue not used

    The final product looks sharp.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Thanks for the wiring info. :hattip: Looks like it's been a few months... How's the light working out for you?

The part number looks like you've got the model with amber turn signals, is this correct? I was looking for the one with red turn signals, I *think* it's 92020-48, but I'm getting conflicting info from Putco CS.

The Putco light blade is working great and has been very visible in poor light conditions. I cant help with the straight red lights product number, i just wanted the amber turn signals and stopped my research there.

Good to hear that you haven't had any problems. Thanks! Wasn't expecting you to know the part number for the red version, just wanted to verify you had the amber (which you did, thanks again).

I've only been in 3 accidents in my life, and each time it was being rear-ended by someone else, so I'm somewhat paranoid. I want to make it so obvious that I'M STOPPED! that one would have to be blind not to notice (or looking at their phone, whichever...).
