Having bought my truck used with 8800 miles on it (dealership courtesy vehicle), I didn't realize that the rear step bumper pad was sliced in two places by a previous driver who had backed up into something. No complaints here as I got the $38,000 vehicle for $30,500.

Today while climbing into the bed, I noticed that the Step Bumper Pad (black plastic) is somewhat slippery when wet. Has anyone ever coated this part with bed-liner material to improve the footing and reduce slickness? I have a replacement pad that I will install in warmer weather and wondering if I should try it.

    Thoughts?

You could also try grip tape. The thought crosses my mind every time I climb on the bumper.

You always want protection when your bumper is wet and slippery
