Is there some sort of way to add gears or something to these trucks? Maybe add a 7th gear or even 7th and 8th? Or is there some sort of regear to make this truck cruise at between 1-2000rpms while doing 80-85mph? This is obviously for better gas mileage during road trips. Ill set my truck in CC at 80mph and even with the TSB that changes the shift points it still shifts around a little more than I'd like. Even when its on perfectly level terrain it will be in 6th and revving more than what I think it should be revving at. This is pretty much the only thing that would make me want to buy a Ranger with the 10 speed or even a Colorado with 8 gears instead of another taco. I will be putting on some 265/75/16s which are 2in bigger than stock. Would the slightly bigger tires help any with this?

If it’s not holding 6th or 5th, it’s certainly not going to hold an even higher gear. (Also, adding gears isn’t possible.)
Taller/heavier tires will only make it worse.
If you want to keep your truck from downshifting, you’ll need to get a manual.

CC is just terrible on these trucks. My truck will cruise in 5th and 6th all day when I don't use CC. Using CC brings 4th into the mix and adds a ton of shifting. And I like my truck and have no other issues with it.

I'm not sure what you mean it sits in 6th and turns more RPM than you think it should. 6th at 70 is like 1500 rpm. Adding bigger tires means you never will hit 6th gear lol.

You can get OVTune, 4.88 Gears, or 5.29 Gears, etc I personally, going the route you want to go, would not regear but possibly would try the tune that OVT provides because you can get custom tuning and he could possibly get you what you want

Rubber overdrive(taller tires) ovtune, plus a speedo recalibration will fix all your woes. Don't regear. Figure out what that'll cost, and how much gas it will save (1-3mpg, realistically) then figure out if that many miles is even drivable. If MPG isn't the concern, but drivability is, ovtune.

OVTune is the only thing that will help your situation.
Best $700 I ever spent on this truck.
My truck holds gears fine now even with 285/75’s

If you have 285’s or bigger, a regear to 4.88 would also help.

The 3rd gens are a higher revving motor and if you regeared the diffs to a higher ratio the tranny would just stay in 4th or 5th longer and never see 6th.

What makes you think holding it at at 1000-1200 would be better. It's like a manual. You can throw it in 6th while going at a lower speed but the engine will work harder by dumping for fuel even though it's not spinning the engine past 1200 rpms
