The built in Qi charger doesn't seem to work with the XS Max with a plastic case on it. It works fine without the case however. It works with an XS w/case oddly enough. I've moved the phone around and it never works with the case on it

This is a iPhone 8 that charges with the same brand/thickness case. it's plastic and has no issues

This is an iPhone XS Max with the same brand/style case and it starts to charge then goes into double light blinking mode. It won't reset until you turn your car off and restart it.

Mine works with the two cases I’ve bought. Just gotta make sure it says Wireless charging compatible.

That's the odd thing, works fine on my desktop Qi charger. Does not work in the Tacoma.

My XS Max in a Spigen case charges fine.

make sure it is positioned correctly.....charging coils are generally off-center so you may want to slide it from side to side to insure its over the coils

I'm using a Spigen plastic case. Works fine for a desktop Qi charger (belkin). The case removed works 100% of the time so far. With the case no matter where I position it throws the car into error mode which requires a restart of the car to reset. moving the phone around doesn't fix it. Putting the ip8 on it after both lights start blinking doesn't work. Turning the charging pad off/on doesn't reset it. Just dead until restart. Oddest thing.

Mine works good with otter box phone case. Seems to charge quite slow though. Any ideas on how to get a quicker charge?

The QI charger in the Tacoma is a novelty anyway. It charges so slow that it's not worth using.
