Best amp for components that will fit under driver or passenger seat?

I just ordered a set of the Polk SR6500 components to install in the front door. Now I need to find me a decent amp to power them. I want to install under a seat if possible to avoid losing space in the vehicle. I have an Access Cab.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

 

I've got an Alpine MRP F-450 under the drivers seat, with the same speakers you are using. 70 wastts X 4 channels. Sounds great.

 

Nice! I may look into this setup. Will it not fit in their side ways so you have less of it exposed from view?

Another question that shows how big of a amateur I am at amps/components. Can I use a 2 channel amp to power the components since it is fed through the crossover, or do I need a 4 channel amp to power each tweeter/woofer with a separate channel?

 

2 Channel will work, they may be components but are still just one set.

 

I'm no sure if it will fit sideways, I didn't install it. I moved the seat all the way forward to take that picture. When the seat is in a normal position you can't see the amp.

 

I used the Pioneer GM-5400T to power my image dynamics components.

Fits under the seat beautifully, and no issues with over heating or anything. Pretty cheap to buy at that too.

Check out the JL XD series. Great amps and really small

I would venture to guess that the PDX series by alpine also fits under the seat.

Mine is mounted behind the seats so I cannot confirm, but they are relatively small footprint amps.

Edit: The PDX5 has the ability to run 4x75 and 1x300 @ 4ohms, so you have the ability to expand and run an active setup / amp all doors / run subwoofers as well depending on your preference. AFAIK there is also a 100.4 and a 150.4 version, along with a 500(?).1 and a 1000.1 in this series.
