I have a 2018 trd off-road and want to swap out the grille with a TRD Pro Grille. What are the best options for purchasing this grille? Would also need the tss sensor component...

I purchased a knock off grille from Amazon in the range of 100$ or so. Then I purchased the factory toyota tss garnish from eBay for around 50-60$

Best option would be go OEM. I've been trying to hunt down a decent TRDFaux Grill. Some have fitment issues and some have the finish wearing off prematurely. Some are decent. I did grab an OEM TRDPro Grill Garnish from eBay for around $50. You could get a good Faux Grill for $140 from one of the member's here or spend a little more for an OEM PT228-35180 TRD for around $200.

Picked mine up from eBay for around $75. Fit perfect and looks great.

I wound up purchasing an OEM grill from Lowe Toyota because I did not want to get burned twice. It was $190+shipping, which kinda sucked but I didn’t want to deal with another bad grill again.

Sure, sorry - this is from my ig post:
I bought a China grill from madhornets and not only was the plastic insanely cheap feeling and scratched up out of the box, but the ‘Y’ fell off almost instantly. Super glued it back on, and after one night of rain and 2 weeks of use, the paint started corroding.

If you tap the link I posted above, there are more pictures of the shitty cheap plastic.

Ah, sorry about your bad luck. I went the eBay route (happened to buy grille from bruce-shark and OEM garnish from a Toyota dealer) and the final product fits and looks good. But the install certainly wasn't without its flaws. I ended up using JB Weld epoxy to hold the letter assembly onto the main grille because the holes for the screws weren't properly injection molded. Then, I had issues fitting the OEM garnish into the TSS slot and ended up breaking both bottom tabs of the OEM garnish. So, I used a Dremel tool and polished flat the broken tabs, applied double sided tape to hold the bottom (not really needed), then added self-threading wing nuts to the top pins of the OEM garnish to hold it onto the grille. I've been running my new grille for a few weeks now without issue.

I'm sure the OEM setup is easier.

Ah, yes, I didn’t mention that none of the screws threaded either, so I had to get new hardware too. What a pain!

    Glad you found a fix.

I also broke those tabs as well, but the gorilla tape I used didn’t touch connect to the OEM one for some reason - wound up picking up a new one. Expensive lesson no doubt.

You guys with the letters falling off, are you putting the letters right on then putting the grill on the car. Or are you letting the letter's adhesive cure in your house for a day or two before putting the grill on the car

After tons of research and price comparing, I decided to call Toyota to see what they had to say. The guy on the phone quoted me $900 for the grill, $150 for the install. I said, "wait a minute, what". He told me that the garnish is expensive. I told him that I'll proceed to get mine from China for $189, and definitely don't need help installing a plug and play grill for one fiddy. Thought I'd share.
