So I was browsing the 2019 model mid sized trucks and every. single. truck. got a base price bump by a few grand. The largest bump was from chev, with a whopping 5000$ base msrp bump for the 2019. While i was browsing i also noticed, in the canadian market, manuals are offically dead in everything. The only option left is a 41000 $ msrp taco with the manual. Im actually pretty pissed, they killed manuals, and work trucks no longer exist. I'm not sure if automakers just decided to say screw canada or what. But i know one thing for certain, I refuse to support the market in the state its in now. :annoyed:

Interesting, I can see that being the reason for the thousand - 2 thousand bump for nissan/toyota. But whats up with the 5k bump from chev? it looks like the exact same truck lol. Either way its insane. Its getting to the point where if you want a new daily its more financially wise to buy a beater truck for hauling and a brand new car for like 18-20k

The article I read didn’t state any specific manufacturers, but said that the tariffs could raise car/truck prices up to 5k. Who knows.

Frontier Pro-4x is still available with a 6spd manual. $32,248 CAD. Damn good value if you ask me.

Didnt see the pro4x. Still sad they canned the stripper model for a slush box  Basically to get a manual now you need a high end model.

They cancelled the SR Manual here after 2017.

with our dollar, and fees im sure are associated with it im sure it wouldn't be worth it sadly. Basically my goal is to make this current truck last as long as physically possible then try to find a clean newer manual. I dont understand how the market is swaying this way, maybe the enthusists are shooting for lightly used ? Idk. with the killing of cars, killing of manuals, and removal of work trucks (all my interests) im really sad as someone who loves cars/trucks lol. Ford coming out with that joke of the ST edge (not even offered in manual) is just a glimpse of whats to come in the next few years. I fully expect all CVT blocky shit suv's that have so many "safety" features you can hardly drive yourself.

Yeah I understand your frustration. Manuals are not really in demand in my area (North Carolina). I was lucky to find mine with manual in the options I wanted. Of course the dealer padded it with other crap I did not want but I was happy with the price.

    Neither is your clown.

Honestly as Canadians we just get shafted any way you slice it. Canadian retailers take you to the cleaners for anything more expensive than a pack of chewing gum. So you figure okay let's try importing from the states. Godspeed, because if the trash dollar exchange and outrageous shipping costs don't kill you, you better believe Canadian customs will.

Living in Canada is basically like living in a big ass Minnesota where everyday feels like a frigid version of the 1929 stock market crash.

I'm not complaining about prices or getting the truck with the options I want.
