Road force balancing - remove old weights?

    I recently bought new tires and had them installed at the dealer, as they were priced competitively and have a Hunter Elite Road Force Balancer. The other day when I washed my truck, I noticed that they used stick on weights and did not remove the old weights beforehand. It looks like the stick on weights are on the opposite side of the wheel for the most part.

    Is there a reason why you wouldn’t want to remove the old rim attached weights? Truck drives fine but it bugs me that they wouldn’t start the process with a weight-free wheel after installing 5 new tires. Can anyone think of a reason for leaving the old ones other than laziness? Don’t want to go back up there unless I have to.

    they always remove the old weights on any tires ive had put on.

    It is SOP to remove all weights. It's a liability and quality assurance issue.
