I am most likely going to be on here more often nowadays because i now have a Tacoma that needs some love but I want it to be great. Yesterday my brother passed away at 21 y/o on my 18th birthday. His favorite possession had to have been his URD supercharged 2.7L 2012 tacoma. Monroe suspension, magnaflow exhaust, brand new off-road tires and clutch too and probably some stuff i won’t remember. But as of recent he hadn’t been taking great care of it. It was a work truck for his self run painting business and needs brakes. Got a busted taillight, busted grille, paint in the bed and some how he managed to spill white paint on the side of it. The rest of the work is a whole lot of small things. But my dad and i want to keep it and make it beautiful just like when he bought it about three summers ago. So this starts the journey back to the Taco’s glory. I will drive this thing as long and hard as i can because that’s what he would’ve wanted. I need some more info on the engine, i can’t find anything on what stuff is good in these 2TR-FEs, I remember hearing that the internals were solid but i can’t find where i saw that. Anything helps thanks

Woof. Sorry to hear that man. Life will be an endurance race for awhile. Just keep trucking .

    No pun intended.

Good luck with your truck. Maybe make a specific build thread that people can chime in on!

I am sorry for your lost. I am sure you will be able to find almost everything you need here on the forum. I recommend going to the 2nd gen section for info and for parts id say hit up your region thread and look at the for sale in the area. might be better then going thru ebay or something. enjoy rebuilding the truck.

Welcome to TW. You'll definitely find a wealth of info from the truck guru's on this site. I suggest making a build thread with pics and any info you have on your brothers truck and then go from there.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I hope restoring his truck brings you peace every time you hop in that drivers seat.
