But the title says complaining about your 3rd gen. Not about your 2.7 motor?

Change your stupid title to something where other people with 2.7 issue might actually poke their head into?

Just a thought. Still, good luck. Hope it's something fixable for you

    Let me explain:
You have X hp available at various RPM's. It takes Y hp to propel your truck down the road at Z speed. If you want to maintain Z speed, then you have to have appropriate hp necessary.
Now, anything can change that hp required to go Z speed. Headwind, low tire, going up or down a hill and even a slight incline.
Your truck, especially your truck with the 2.7 NA engine, is only able to provide a certain hp at certain engine rpms. If you need MORE power, the truck has to go look for it and it does so by increasing rpms and it usually needs to change gears to do so.

This is how it is. The advantage to your configuration is it's cheaper to buy and cheaper to operate. The disadvantage is it is going to shift like a mofo trying to maintain a fixed speed on the interstate. Sorry man but its simple physics.
It could be made smoother with more gears in the transmission or having a higher power engine. That's it. The ECU can only control what it has to work with.

Complaints, I have a few...Is that ok? Not Remorse no regrets though...Is that ok too?

First, I got cooky months back and challenged a big arse F-250 at a light and I beat him for the first few yards never saw his tail light after that. Turns out, that my 7.1 sec wasn't fast enough to beat his 6.9.
Then there's the seating issue. My wife refuses to drive it as it has limited adjustment. But we literally go every where in it, go figure.
There's also that dreaded Kazoo everyone talks about but I never had heard till I ran into some mean cross winds KAZOOM!
IDK If its just me or if there's cure for it, but being as I don't live or drive in an area affected by it, I don't have the time to worry about.

There maybe other things too but for now, no remorse, no regrets. And you??

What do you mean by under load? It's just me in the truck, not towing anything.

Your truck is "x" amount of pounds, that is load.

When you are using the accelerator, your engine is "under load" regardless of how much weight it is moving.

Am I the asshole for expecting my truck to cruise in overdrive without jolting me back into my seat every 30 seconds on the interstate while driving the speed limit? The thing says it has a 3500lbs towing limit, how is that even possible when it can't carry its own weight on the interstate without strenuous shifting? We're talking speed limit in the slow lane with downshifting issues - sounds like a major design flaw in the sense that the stock truck is either overweight or underpowered.

You can nitpick little shit here and there to make you feel good about defending your positions, you can even be patronizing and condescend to me in your comments,

Fact remains: this crewcab 2.7i cant handle the interstate because it's either overweight or underpowered

    EITHER WAY

    The design is flawed. Period.

No, you are not an asshole but you are lacking knowledge on the basic fundamentals of physics. No design flaw. It is working exactly as designed. If you don't want your truck to shift then you need a truck will a LOT more HP.

Have you ever watched 18 wheelers when they are going up a steep grade? Ever wonder why they are going slow? It's because, even though they have 18 gears, their engine does not have enough power to maintain the speed limit. So far, your truck can change gears and maintain a speed.

This label from the TSB should be on your hood at the indicated position if SB-0062-18 was applied by dealer:

Drive with me on the interstate. 10 minutes of the violent downshifting and you'll be advising me to take it back to the dealership.
My best friend owns a 2005 4.0, he was very skeptical of my concerns at first, then he took it for a spin on the interstate and told me something's not right. I was like, I told you so!

    Like, so many.
I hate that my truck looks so badass because women literally throw themselves at me and it's a driving hazard.
