Steering - Horrible Squeak While Turning Passenger

Hoping someone can tell me what's wrong just by the video below... but it's making a trumpet sounding squeak when turning passenger. Just started today, my truck's only at 53k miles. Power steering fluid appears normal... right?

Have someone turn the wheel for you. Should be easy to isolate under.

 

Sounds like something is binding up. Never heard anything like that.

 

Hopped under while my buddy turned the wheel... seemed like it was getting slightly better (less squeak) as he went on... also sounded like it was coming from the rack or the inner tie rod ends. Wheel is turning fine, with no noticeable differences in the play in the wheel. Smooth throughout.

 

... but it's making a trumpet sounding squeak...
Can you make it sound like violins to the other side? Make some money on the street corner.

 

LOL I'm not sayin' it's ideal... I just want to make sure it's safe for my 600 mile trip up and back to Mammoth this weekend. Having a alignment/steering shop check it out tomorrow am. ugh.

 

Might not hurt to try this. Spray water underneath if the sound stops then something needs to be lubed.

 

This. Something needs lube. That's not a belt or power steering pump noise. Sounds like a bushing that needs some lubin'.

 

That’s good news, cause hopped in this morning to take it to the shop and the noise is COMPLETELY GONE. Still gunna have them check it out.

 

I don't know if you have aftermarket UCA but I get the same exact squeak with my All Pro UCA if they haven't been grease awhile or I just finished off roading with a lot of dirt/mud.

 

Yessir... ding ding ding! Lubed my uniballs on the UCA’s last night and I think it was my driver side. Shop said steering is solid. No more trumpets. Thank you for the solid intel!
