No, it doesn’t. LEDs fail to project effectively, that measurement is a single snapshot at a fixed short distance. Extended distance projection has catastrophic results for LEDs. Follow the linked thread tomorrow for empirical evidence on LEDs inability to project.

The GEs linked in the thread many have posted are noticeably whiter than stock while performing drastically better than LED.

Telling people that LEDs don’t work as well as halogens in their headlights is like telling people in the 50’s and 60’s that smoking is bad for you. It’s going to be a battle

    Lol. I wouldn’t go that far. It’s like comparing 720p to 1080p.

I'll have my Hikari delivered tomorrow. I know that putting LED bulb into the halogen projector isn't the best solution but I'd like to give it a chance.

You may like it. I ran them for awhile and keep them in the truck for backups or if I need to swap out my HID bulbs when I go offroading (shakey headlight housing....). I have friends who run them and like them much better than stock. They're definitely not as bright as HIDs but IMO, the cutoff looks the same.

I see your location is in the Northeast. My understanding is that LEDs do not project as much heat as halogen, so there is a much greater chance that the covers can get coated with snow and block all the light when using LEDs over halogens. As a person in New England, that reason alone is enough for me to stick with halogens.

IDK, never heard of anyone on MDX forums having problems with their LEDs during winter months. If the conditions are right, no matter the bulb type it'll freeze over or get covered regardless.

Got Hikari installed. Drove back home after work in the rain, and all I can say is WOW! These things are bright! Not as bright as my MDX headlights but definitely on par or maybe even better than my Golf R HIDs. They come with an in-line resistors too. The key is to install them in the correct position to get a proper beam pattern. I am sure I need a little more seat time to better evaluate them, but so far happy with the results. They also go great with my Morimoto LED fogs.

    Next mod! lol

Have the LED headlights fixed the issue for us in the snow states of not melting the snow and ice on the lense during snow storms?

If you like waiting almost 2 months for 6 LED bulbs to come in while dealing with sketchy customer service.. buy Auxbeams.

Last month I was on the fence about using my HIDs because of the shake they have so I swapped to my LEDs for a few days. During that time I went offroading at night while it was snowing. My headlights did freeze over... After that I switched back to my HIDs.

Yes, LEDs produce no IR. They will easily freeze over with the rest of the leading edge of the vehicle. I have a great photo of this, but I cannot find it at the moment.

Yep. Thanks for the info. #1 reason why I'll stay with my lights
