Will This 10" Subwoofer Box Fit?

Would like to put a 10" sub behind the back seat of a 2018 double cab non-jbl. Don't mind having to remove the plastic panels or the plastic on the backside of the seat, but not sure if the following boxes will fit. Curious if anyone has used either of these boxes, or boxes of similar dimensions, and have been able to fit them behind the rear seat. I have noticed most of the custom fit boxes that for sure fit (*********, etc) do not post the dimensions online.

I would prefer the larger angled box because it will accommodate more subs, but not sure about it fitting with the 8.5" (bottom) and 5" (top) depth.

Any input is appreciated.

 

I think the first one will, I remember measuring 7 inches of space in the cubby, but I dont remember. I do know that subzero 8 inch truck boxes fit very tight. Though I think subzero went out of business like 15 years ago.

If you have your truck, grab a tape measure check. Be aware that the subwoofer will mount in there too, so add some space for the lip of the sub and the cone to move.

 

How is this even a thread? Just measure the space and compare the dimensions of the box. Have you done any work to find out if this will fit?

 

I measured behind the seat with the plastic cubby and backside of the seat still installed and was hoping to avoid tearing apart the back of my truck only to find out the boxes will not fit. Figured somebody has tried out these boxes.

Look at the dimensions on this.. just installed it and it literally fits perfect in depth and height... lengthwise i have about 5” to spare

Just in case anyone in the future wonders about these boxes, I confirmed the first box does NOT fit minus heavy modification. It requires removal of the plastic cubby behind the seat, the plastic panel on the back side of the seat, as well as the plastic piece that runs vertical near the rear seat belt. Also, in order for the seat to latch, you have to put washers or spacers on the latch bar in order for it to make contact with the seat. If the top of the box was angled, it would fit.

I tried the first box behind the driver's side and the passenger's side and neither side works.

 

Do you have any installed pictures?

 

JL Audio makes a box that fit perfectly in my ‘15. Not sure how different they are in a 2nd gen vs 3rd...

The amp fits neatly under the driver's side seat. I will eventually secure the amp with some velcro. The sub/box fits behind the driver's side rear seat with the plastic cubby removed. I covered the box with a blanket so it does not rock back and forth between the rear seat and back wall.

I spent about $500 doing the entire upgrade. The amp was an open box Amazon special. The longest part of the install was the sound deadening which took an entire Saturday afternoon. All in all, the install was pretty easy.

 

Where did you run ground too? Does the plastic rattle or since it's a pretty snug fit do you just feel the bass thud?

What about this? The base option is pretty cheap, if not, I think the dimensions are listed on there. Goin thru the same thing, just tryin to decide between a hideaway or an actual enclosure

I am not hip to this, the sub, where does it fit if you just have access cab? I have no intend of removing the Entune plus, so I assume I need a powered sub and will this just plug into my radio? I know little about sound systems, but I know mine right now needs something.

 

You can keep the stock radio and essentially "bypass" it with a mini amp and then upgrade door speakers / add amp if desired. Few threads floating around for plug and play applications on stock non-JBL systems. Adding the amp completes the whole upgrade by providing the missing bass that the doors/tweeters won't give ya.

 

Adding on to what JD said, you can get a wiring harness like the one I listed in my post above that plugs right into your stock radio that allows you to then run a remote wire and RCA to a separate powered amp. Removing the head unit, plugging in the harness,and running the RCA and remote wire was probably the easiest part of my overall install. Including doing the tweeters.

^^ Exactly.. this is an Alpine Power Pack that is bypassed in between stock HU and stock speaker wiring. Door speakers and tweeters were replaced with Kickers all around. Power pack sits nicely behind/under stock HU. Completely plug and play setup no need to splice a single stock wire.
