It's funny how time changes things. In my hay-day, "60's & 70's" If you put nice wheels on a car or truck, #1 were chrome or alum., aftermarket, #2 were OEM sport whls, #3 would be orig wheels with nice hub caps, #4 white spoked steel wheels on trucks, & black wheels were the cheapest looking, bottom of the barrel there were. Today folks have a nice set of alum. sport wheels & paint them black, with a can of satin or flat black paint, from wal-mart. Go figure. I guess the same as country music, years past we had Ferlin Husky, Hank Williams, & Porter Wagoner. Today it's Keith Urbin, Hank Williams "Jr", & Kid Rock. I realize it's just me, but every time I see black wheels on any vehicle I think Cheap & Trashy. Please don't trash me, I'm sure it's cause of my age. Just my opinion.

It's like anything else, trends get played out! When everybody and their dog has x, the next generation does y. I had chrome wheels on my vehicles in the past and I liked that look. Sports cars and trucks. Eventually I got tired of seeing it and have been running black wheels on my last 2 trucks and I think it looks killer!

This explains so much! My dad is turning 60 this month. He's been into cars his whole life. Worked on them, street raced them, etc. He's almost done completely rebuilding a 64 Falcon. I showed him the wheels I want (4R TRD) and he hates them. Usually he sugar coats negative feedback but not about these wheels haha
