It’s great. One of those ‘I wish I did this sooner’ mods. Just make sure you get the mentioned screws in the description for a flush look. The bump is flat.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Thanks for posting this. I was about to make one of these for camping purposes.

We sell a lot of these to people who really want the tailgate smooth for a camp kitchen or those with camper setups like the Drifter and GFC who get in and out of the back of the truck a lot. Obviously the added strength is a benefit too :)

Very cool. I say add a magnet strip and a bottle opener to the end of it and I am sold!
I like the innovation the community is bringing to the table. Now if I can get my tacos to just fly off my plate into my mouth.
I will pick one of these up from you. Do you make any other brackets or specific to making camping better?

Good info, I think I'm going to place the order soon, I never thought about something like this and it seems very useful.

I’ve always been curious, does the weight affect the tailgate assist?

Slightly but it’s still no where close to a hard drop. At least not with the aluminum one I had.

a bit, certainly. It drops faster than stock, but won't just 'drop'. It still has a dampening affect. Closing becomes a bit heavier as well, but IMO is more like a tailgate should feel
