Morning folks, recently picked up a 2017 TRD Sport with 7789 miles on her. Just getting to know her a bit. Already figured out how to get all the doors to unlock instead of just the driver's side. But honestly a little disappointed (unless I'm missing something) that I can't start truck in morning to warm up, then get out and lock the truck when I'm heading back in the house. Every car we opened was able to do this. What am I missing?

    Welcome to TW!
When you open the door the engine cuts off and I do not believe there is a way to disable that feature without really pissing off the electrical in this truck.

Is this a push button start vehicle?

If so here is how you start and lock in order to warm up the vehicle. (Found this out with my pbs optima)

Get in, start as usual... roll down driver side window, get out and shut the door.

Reach in through driver window, lock the doors and use the one touch auto up window feature to roll up window and remove your hand...

Window will roll up, truck will be running & locked.

Use the door key inside the fob to open the door when you are ready to leave.

If you have an MT with turn key... use the same steps and use secondary key to open door when you are ready to leave.

Was just reading that on another thread. Not a huge deal now considering it doesn't really stay cold here in NC for very long. Just seems like an oversight by Toyota when competitors have had this working for years. I'll think about getting remote start at some point before next winter.
