    Not too sure of the route. I’ve never come from the North side. I keep hearing about the Hesperia route though.

    I don’t want to do anything crazy. Just explorer a new route and it looks like there will be snow which is cool, even on a fire road.

    Yeah that's a fun route to take up into Fawnskin to avoid highway traffic. Did it about a month ago starting from the desert up into Big Pine Flats and Fawnskin from there. Wife and I did it solo and it was snowing, its a really easy drive but worth it for the scenery and lack of people/traffic.

    Yah looking at the weather today it looks like Big Bear is getting a lot of fresh snow with these colder storms. If not for the fact that we're going to be up to our shoulders in snow up in Tahoe next weekend, I'd be really jealous lol

    Yeah, I’m OK with a nice easy drive especially if there is snow. It does look like they got hit pretty hard so it would be worth checking out.

    yeah I wouldn't worry about doing it solo, it's a steady climb all the way from Hesperia so it never gets steep, nothing technical at all. Definitely a 2wd friendly fire road any other time of the year except for when there's snow.
