I’d love to pick his brain for just one day. The knowledge and wisdom alone would make it all worth it.

Can and should I get this adjusted to accurately represent mileage on the truck?

I have one other question related to gas mileage. I don't know the correct terms. There are two dash displays- one is a constant estimation of MPG and the other one appears when shutting off the truck. The constant read is always lower... like - 16-17mpg. The one that appears when turning the ignition off read 22 mpg the other night. The only way I can ever see this reading is when I turn the truck off.

For adjusting it, you’d have to buy an aftermarket thing called the hypertech or something like that. It lets you plug in all your parameters and adjusts accordingly.

For the other question, I don’t have a 3rd gen so I’m not sure. Maybe the second one is your mpg for that trip? Like if you drove from home to work, the second one would be your mpg for that one drive.

And give me a heads up also please. I may be interested in some too. I also have some to get rid of. Usually sell on TPC, but would rather give first dibs to someone local.

I think the first is your instant MPG. It's not an average it's just what your truck is instantly getting. It often shows lower while accelerating or going up hill.

The last is your trip average. It shows when you shut off the truck because your trip is over.

Yep. Only been on tpc since last summer. Got way too addictive. So, likewise, I'm trying to just focus on patches pertaining to my individual likes and places visited. That collecting of whole sets, just to say you have them, gets expensive quick

I did a full HID retrofit of mine. I love them now but it was by far the most challenging thing I've done to the truck.

Really? I’d have to read a write up, but on first glance I wouldn’t expect it to be too complicated.

Have you ever opened a headlight before? If so then it might not be too hard for you. The Tacoma lights are sealed from the factory with permaseal which is a bitch to open up.
