    TWorld,

As some have seen on here I have been eagerly awaiting the fulfillment of an order made from CBi for Rock sliders that were placed in September of 2018... Here's the short story that I will continue to update as I go.
    -Slider's Ordered September 2018
-Received an invoice promising ship date of Late November.
-First of December I wrote three separate e-mails over two weeks inquiring on the status. I am Active Duty and could not call due to dep/op.
-Finally called Mid December and talked to their service rep who informed me they ran into an issue with their tube bender and my order was pushed a month. Well, manufacturing issues happen, I got a new date of first week in January. There were no response to e-mails as of date.

Mid January 2019, still no word. Called and talked to Kenny, who told me that my sliders were the next in line and would be built that day, at the latest the following morning and I would be receiving a shipping notification.
-Week Later, no update or shipping, e-mailed customer service. Week later, followed up with another e-mail.
-Few Days later, still no response so I called again: They told me this time that my sliders were the first in line of the next production run, but they had a full run of DOM sliders ahead of me, and had no response to why I was promised mine would be built 'that day' and no-effort was made to make anything right.

    So...
-Here I am, 02FEB19 and still no update, or shipping. $1k slider set still sitting in cue, and I will update these as things progress and change. Once again, $1,000.00 dollars down, 5 months later on a 6-8 week production promise. Not impressed. I am part of a big offroad community in the PNW and already had three mates drop orders from CBi over watching my issues... lets get this fixed.

You should be used to waiting and not having promises fulfilled on-time, shippy. It's our creed.

Exact reason why I'll never order from CBI again. Had the same thing happen on a front bumper. Cancelled my order after 6 months of promises.

It’s disappointing to hear these kinds of things. When I am ready to drop the coin, I don’t want to be lied to, it’s really poor customer service. It would be better in the long run, if they just said we can’t make them here is a refund, check back in a month or two.

Sorry to hear CBI dropped the ball on you. Why aren't vendors getting the message?

That sucks, companies should be upfront, even if they have delays. possibly even be proactive and send updates, quick text or email.

That's strange how a fabrication shop Like cbi can't fill that order after that much time...I would be doing a Charge back because they have had more than enough time to fabricate Multiple sliders ...

I purchased my sliders from RCI in the middle of a very large group buy and the sliders were shipped on the estimated date that I was told of and in front of my Garage 3 days latter, I have purchase 2 different times now from RCI (Bed Rack and Sliders) no issues.

This is a very simple game with long established rules. I give vendor hard earned money, product is delivered. Vendor fails to deliver then they shall not be paid.

That sucks man. I’ll echo a few others here and say if it were my money, I’d be asking for my money back about now. I understand fab shops are hard to run and there are many unreasonable customers out there, but truth be told the customer should always be taken care of as best they can. As the customers we can help them understand this by not putting up with stuff like this.

Funny you mentioned that... My buddy ordered a full bed rack from RCI three months after I ordered some basic sliders and he hit me up yesterday tellling me it just showed at his doorstep, almost two weeks early! He was orriginally going to go through CBi for the bumper and bedrack... but my Offroad Group quickly realized they won't be getting any more of our money!

What really irritates me is their instagram posts around christmas, a full month after my sliders were due, saying they had a whole batch of sliders 'fresh built, come buy one online or at the shop!' .... yet they can't fullfill orders? https://www.tacomaworld.com/members/45457/

People got lax and Pelfeybilt burned a bunch, shame on us collectively for tolerating that nonsense up until then. It's beyond me why companies think they can get away with it now. I'm sure there are still a few people willing to roll the dice with lots of money but just a rumor mentioned in a thread like this is probably going to get a faster response with credit card disputes and cancelled payment, which could be disaster for companies operating on the margin of smart cash flow as most of them do.

I hope it gets them moving, and it is sad to see that I am not the only one on here that is having this problem... companies like this rely on reputation, here they are (between my post and other's) at 5,500 views of potential customers now knowing something is up. I will update my thread fairly, but accurately, and am glad that forums like this give us a voice to dispute these crappy practices. I'd really like to see these changes come to place with these manufacturers... It seems it has become quite the gamble to trust these companies anymore. Shame.

I went through a very similar experience with Gobi Racks. It took me about 6 months to get my rack from the date of order. There was several times that I called and said I was going to cancel and they would say that I was next in line, being built as we speak, or on the next truck to be shipped. Ultimately, the product showed up at my door without me even receiving a tracking number, lol. I love my rack and I would probably go through the wait again because I really wasn't in a dire need to get it on the truck. Unfortunately, it seems like with most of the companies out there building this stuff for our trucks it takes a long time to get. I will say I am surprised to here this about CBI because I thought they were pretty well established and reliable. If you end up cancelling check out @Mobtown Offroad. I know Joe personally, he does great work and is very reliable. There will always be lead time but over 5 months is a bit insane.

Rci sliders was the only armor purchase I received on time . I've got a c4 full swingout rear and a cbi full hoop front. Both were late. Still worth it though.

I expected a lead time. But I called and talked to them before even ordering in Oct and had them 'guarantee' that my sliders would be well done and at my house by my vacation time late December. I am military, so I needed the time to get them powdercoated and installed. Yet... here we are. I see mobtown on here a lot, and they seem to be doing it right. Lesson learned.

    $1,000 sliders? Yikes. I got 2 sets of sliders (Tacoma/4runner) from 4xinnovations for $220/set.

They should be removed as others have, such as All Pro, Pelfrybilt, Chas from MRT. Although the thief Chas is still around and with Battle Born Off Road.
